TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer had the upper hand in the annual border contest with Eastern Illinois as the Sycamores held off the Panthers 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
EIU fell to 1-4-1 on the season and will host Bowling Green next Friday at 3 p.m. at Lakeside Field.  ISU improved to 3-3.
Indiana State scored in the 8th minute and then made that goal stand up for the win.  Maddie Orf connected high into the net following an eight yard cross from Kate Johnson.
Both teams packed in defensively as ISU recorded only four shots on goal compared to just one shot on goal attempt for EIU.
Maddie Lyon finished with three saves for the Panthers.  Brittany San Roman posted the shutout win for the Sycamores.

Hannah Miller who scored her first goal of the last on Friday during the 3-1 win over IPFW.
