MOREHEAD, Ky. – Eastern Illinois lost a tough Ohio Valley Conference road match on Sunday afternoon as the lone goal of the match was an own goal in the 48th minute during a 1-0 Morehead State victory.
The own goal came after Cara Maher fired a shot into the goal box that was blocked. In the attempt to clear the ball an own goal was scored.
Sara Teteak made six saves in goal for the Panthers as both teams finished with six shots on goal. Michelle Washburn made six saves for the Eagles. EIU fell to 4-9 overall, 1-4 in the OVC. All five conference matches this season have been decided by a 1-0 score. Morehead State improved to 4-9-2, 1-4-1 in the OVC.
The Panthers had six different players register shots on goal in the match.
