Women's Basketball Returns To Lantz Wednesday

The EIU women's basketball team returns to Lantz Arena to host Cleveland State at 3 p.m.

GAME 10
The Panthers have a brief respite from their traveling as they play host to Cleveland State Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. This will be EIU's last home non-conference match of the season as the Panthers close out the non-conference portion of their schedule on the road in five of their last six games. EIU returns to Charleston sporting a 4-5 record having dropped their most recent game at Valparaiso 73-68. The Panthers nearly mounted a fourth quarter comeback against the Crusaders outscoring Valpo 27-14 in the final period before time ran out on EIU's comeback bid.

TURNING IT ON LATE
The Panthers played one of the best second halves of the season at Valparaiso. EIU's 42 second half points is the most the team has scored since Evansville when the Panthers recorded 47 points to earn a 73-63 win over the Purple Aces. The 27 points EIU scored in the fourth quarter is the most points they have recorded in the final period all season. Zharia Lenoir scored eight points in the final quarter to finish the game with a career high 11 points while Allison Van Dyke netted nine points to lead the team with 14 points in the game.

HOT AND COLD
After shooting only 15 percent in the first quarter against Valparaiso the Panthers finished the game strong shooting 67 percent in the fourth quarter and 43 percent for the game. As a team this season EIU is shooting 42.7 percent from the floor placing them second in the OVC trailing only Southeast Missouri who is currently shooting 43.9 percent. Erica Brown leads the team shooting 48 percent so far this season followed by Allison Van Dyke shooting 47 percent. Brown and Van Dyke rank 11th and 12th respectively in the OVC.
