GAME 25Eastern Illinois won its fifth straight game on Saturday beating Southeast Missouri, 78-69, to improve to 11-13 overall, 7-4 in the OVC. EIU stands in first place in the OVC West Division race as they get set to host Austin Peay for the third game in a four-game home stand. APSU is in the midst of a five game road swing improving to 11-15 overall, 4-7 in the OVC with a road win at Murray State on Saturday night. A.J. Riley hit the game winner with 0.3 seconds to play. Wednesday night's game will be televised on the American Sports Network, one of four nationally televised home games for EIU this season.
ANDERSON WITH BIG START VS. SEMOTrae Anderson hit his first eight shots from the floor on Saturday as he finished with 27 points in the win over Southeast Missouri. It marked the fifth time this season Anderson has scored 20 or more points in a game with a high of 31 at Marshall. Anderson added 12 rebounds for his fourth career double-double (second against SEMO - 25 pts / 12 reb last season). During the Panthers five game win streak Anderson has averaged 18.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 54.1 percent from the floor.
McREYNOLDS POSTS A DOUBLE-DOUBLEDemetrius McReynolds posted his third career double-double on Saturday finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds. McReynolds also has double-doubles this season against Green Bay (12 pts / 11 reb) and Eastern Kentucky (27 pts / 10 reb). During the season McReynolds has had the hot hand for EIU several times scoring 18 or more points in a half four times. His season high for a half was 20 points against Eastern Kentucky. Most recently McReynolds had 18 first half points against Saint Ambrose.
