CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois goalkeepers
Liz Carmody and
Sara Teteak both finished with three saves on a rainy Sunday afternoon as the Panthers posted a 0-0 draw with Evansville to wrap up their exhibition schedule. EIU will open the 2016 regular season on Friday at Bowling Green. The home opener for EIU will be Sunday, Sept. 4 against Indiana State.
Evansville finished with a total of 14 shots for the game with six shots on goal. The Purple Aces tested EIU's starting keeper, Carmody, with three shots on goal in the opening period.
Two of the Purple Aces best scoring chances came from Emily Richardson as she twice hit the post on shots. Evansville had a late charge at the goal by Bronwyn Boswell with Teteak making the save in the third period.
The two schools played three 30-minute periods for the exhibition.
EIU finished with three total shots but none on goal.
Ellie Corrigan,
Rachel Pappas and
Kate Olson all finished with shots for the Panthers.
