GAME 16
The Eastern Illinois women's basketball team continues their road trip through the Bluegrass State as they take on Eastern Kentucky this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Panthers look to earn the weekend split after falling to Morehead State Thursday afternoon 66-62. EIU nearly pulled off the upset over OVC-leading MSU as the Panthers led throughout most of the game. The Eagles were able to earn the win thanks to a big second half push as the Panthers went cold from the floor late in the fourth quarter.
THE ROARING TWENTIES
Junior
Grace Lennox had a phenomenal game against Morehead State scoring over 20 points for the third time this season. Lennox tied her career high finishing the game against Morehead State with 26 points which she also earned against Illinois-Springfield earlier this year. Lennox leads the team this season averaging 13.8 points per game scoring in double-digits 10 times this season. Following her performance against the Eagles, Lennox now ranks ninth in the OVC for points per game.
600 IS A MAGIC NUMBER
Despite not scoring any points against Morehead State,
Erica Brown was a big factor for EIU recording 12 rebounds against the Eagles to lead all players. Her 12 rebounds is the 11th time Brown has recorded double-digit rebounds and is now just three rebounds away from 600 career rebounds. If Brown can pull down at least three boards in EIU's game against EKU she will become the 15th member of EIU's 600 rebound club. Currently, Brown is fifth in the OVC for total rebounds with 110 this year and rebounds per game averaging 7.3.
