Sara Teteak was able to turn most of them away before the Racers finally slipped one in for a 1-0 win.
Rebecca Kubin scored in the 76th minute on an assist from Emma Heise as Murray State won the Ohio Valley Conference regular season title with the victory improving to 12-1-2 overall, 7-0-2 in the OVC.
EIU saw its season come to an end with the loss as the Panthers ended the season with a 5-12-2 record, 0-9-1 in the OVC.
The Panthers were limited to just four total shots in the match with two shots on goal.
Sarah DeWolf had a pair of shots while
Kayla Stolfa and
Rachel Pappas were each credited with a shot. DeWolf and Stolfa both registered shots on goal.
The match was the final one for EIU's senior class of
Carrie Caplin (injured),
Ali Carlson,
Madi Fisher and
Emma Scaro.
