Eastern Illinois plays its fourth straight road game as the Panthers wrap up the road portion of their non-conference schedule on Saturday at South Alabama. The Panthers have lost two of the last three road games by three points or less. EIU is now 2-6 and will host Western Illinois and Saint Francis (Ill.) at home next week prior to the Holiday Break. South Alabama comes into the game at 5-5 after a road loss at Ohio Valley Conference member SIUE last weekend. The Jaguars are 3-1 at home this season.
LEWIS JOINS SELECT OVC GROUP
EIU senior guard
Terrell Lewis joined a select group of players in the Ohio Valley Conference at Green Bay as he became just the ninth player in conference history with 500 assists and 1,000 points. Lewis is the Panthers career leader in assists with 501 and currently ranks 37th on the EIU career scoring charts with 1,009 points. Lewis has 209 career 3-pointers which rank him tied for fourth on the EIU career charts.
DAMA PULLS DOWN DOUBLE FIGURE REBOUNDS
Senior
Muusa Dama pulled down double figure rebounds for the first time this season during the Panthers game at Green Bay. Dama finished with ten rebounds after having posted a season-high seven rebounds in three previous games. Last season Dama lead the Ohio Valley Conference in rebounding at 9.6 per game. He twice posted a season-high of 18 rebounds and had 13 games with double figure rebounds.
