DENVER - Eastern Illinois men's soccer fell 1-0 at Denver in the first round of the Summit League tournament to end their 2018 season. The Panthers finish the year 3-11-4 overall, while the Pioneers improve to 14-3-2 and advance to the championship match against the winner of No. 2 Omaha/No. 3 Purdue Fort Wayne.

Andre Shinyashiki scored the game winner for Denver in the 11th minute of the match. He took the ball to the back right of the box drawing goalkeeper Jonathan Burke out on defense and quickly shot with his left foot into the back left of the net. Moshe Perez and Jacob Stensson tallied assists on the play.

Each team was held to one shot on goal. Shinyashiki finished the match with four total shots. Toby Andrews, Cole Harkrader, Kris Luke, and Nate Francke each had one shot for the Panthers. Luke's shot was EIU's lone shot on goal.

Burke and Will Palmquist played all 90 minutes in goal for their respective teams. Palmquist made one stop.
