CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois women's basketball team defeated SIUE 76-72 in overtime to win their final game of the 2017-18 season.
Jalisha Smith led the Panthers with 15 points and 14 rebounds to complete her first double-double of the season.
The Panthers were 9-of-10 from the field in the first quarter and shot 59 percent from the field for the first half taking a 45-27 lead into halftime.

Danielle Berry knocked down a three-pointer to put the Panthers up by three with 40 seconds left to play. Lauren White scored three points in the final 32 seconds to force the game into overtime.
The Cougars scored to open the overtime period, but Smith and
Jennifer Nehls scored for EIU on back-to-back layups to give the Panthers a permanent lead. EIU picked up their third win of the season defeating the Cougars 76-72.
Five players scored in double-figures for the Panthers.
Taylor Steele poured in a team-leading 16 points on 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Karle Pace added 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Smith finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds to record her third career double-double. Nehls and
Grace McRae scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, while
Carmen Tellez tallied a career-high six assists.
Four players scored double-digits. Allie Troeckler scored a game -high 20 points. She was 9-of-10 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and 12-of-13 overall. Lauren White completed the double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Alston and Beck added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Sydney Bauman collected 14 boards and tallied six blocks.
The Panthers concluded their 2017-18 season tonight with an overall record of 3-26 and 2-16 in the OVC.
