TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis picked up wins from the bottom of its singles order as the Panthers edged Rose-Hulman on Saturday at the Wabash Valley Tennis Center.  EIU won 5-4 as the two schools played each doubles match as a point.
The Panthers took a 2-1 lead in doubles play as they won at No. 2 and No.3 doubles.Â
Logan Charbonneau and
Freddie O'Brien won 8-3 playing at No. 2 doubles while
Trent Reiman and
Braden Davis picked up an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Davis was one of three Panthers to come up big in singles play as EIU won the match with wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Davis won 6-2, 6-3 over Brendan Goldacker at No. 6 singles.
Gage Kingsmtih claimed a 6-3, 6-2 win over Andrew Schiffman at No. 4 singles with
Jared Woodson beating Austin Perry 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.
EIU opens Ohio Valley Conference play next weekend at home as the Panthers improved to 4-11 on the season.
