NASHVILLE – Eastern Illinois women's tennis season ended on Saturday evening as the Panthers lost 4-0 to Eastern Kentucky in the semifinal round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Nashville.

EIU finished the season at 13-13 overall with the Panthers posting a 6-3 record in OVC play. EIU had won its opening round OVC Tournament match 4-2 over Jacksonville State on Friday evening.

EKU won the doubles point as the Colonels picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.Â
Srishti Slaria and
Claire Martin were playing at No. 3 doubles which was left unfinished after EKU won the point.

In singles play EKU won the match winning points at No. 2, No. 6 and No. 1 singles.

Playing at No. 5 singles
Emily Pugachevsky had forced her match to a third set against Lisa Friess. Friess won the first set 6-2 before Pugachevsky rallied to win the second set 6-4. Friess was leading 2-1 in the third set.

Grace Summers was up one set at No. 3 singles when the contest was ended. Summers beat Viktorij Demcenkova 7-5 in the opening set and was trailing 4-3 in the second when the match was left unfinished.

Slaria was leading in the second set against Alexandria Bella when her match was left unfinished. Bella won the first set 6-4 and Slaria led the second set 4-3.

On Thursday night prior to the OVC Tournament beginning
Stella Cliffe was named first team All-OVC while Summers earned second team All-OVC honors. Summers ends her career as the Panthers career leader in singles wins with 56.
