CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced its conference schedule of games through the 2025 season on Wednesday with some teams also releasing their future non-conference match-ups at the same time.   Among those future games for Big Ten schools is a Sept. 21, 2024 date between Eastern Illinois and Illinois.
 
This will be the third time that EIU and Illinois will meet on the gridiron.  The Panthers played at Illinois to open the 2006 season and again in 2008 as the second game of the year.  Illinois won both games with a 42-17 win in 2006 and a 47-21 win in 2008.
 
Eastern Illinois opens the 2018 season this weekend against Southeastern Conference member Arkansas with the game to be televised nationally on the SEC Network with a 3 p.m. kickoff. 
 
EIU has previously announced games at Indiana in 2019 and Kentucky in 2020.  The Panthers have six all-time wins over FBS programs including two in the last five years.
