CHARLESTON, Ill. - Green Bay handed Eastern Illinois men's soccer their first loss of the season Sunday afternoon. The Phoenix took a 1-0 win over the Panthers improving to 3-0-1 overall. EIU falls to 1-1-1 overall.
Green Bay took five shots with two on goal in today's match. Tomer Zloczower scored the game winning goal on a penalty kick at the 60 minute mark.Â
The Panthers took eight shots with three on goal. Kevin Lenham led the match with two shots on goal. Shady Omar finished with one shot on goal.
Jonathon Burke played 90 minutes in the net for EIU. He made one save and allowed one goal. Jamison Yoder made two saves while Nikola Kahvedzic recorded one for Green Bay.
EIU will be back in action next weekend at the Bradley Invitational in Peoria, Ill. The Panthers will play Bradley Sept. 7 at 7 pm and Mercer on Sept. 9 at 11 am.
