Lariah Washington of the EIU women's basketball team has earned OVC Freshman of the Week. Washington is the first EIU player to earn this honor since
Abby Wahl. This is Washington's first career honor as a member of the Panthers.
Washington started in both games against Loyola-Chicago and UIC, logging a total of 63 minutes on the court. Washington scored a career-high 14 points and six rebounds vs. the Ramblers of Loyola. She then went on to break her new career-highs against UIC, scoring 17 points and coming down with 12 rebounds. Washington recorded her first career double-double, along with four assists. Washington shot 10-22 in both games, shooting 45% from the field and 43% from deep.
The Panthers will be taking on the Evansville Purple Aces on Tuesday for their next match up.
