The Eastern Illinois baseball team moved there home game against Butler on Tuesday to Indianapolis, Indiana due to weather conditions at Coaches Stadium. EIU will also make up their game against Evansville that was postponed earlier in the season on Wednesday.
EIU heads into the weekend sporting an overall record of 7-11 and 2-4 in the OVC.
The Panthers will play at Butler on Tuesday at 3 pm and they will complete their midweek action on Wednesday at Evansville at 6 pm.
Michael YaSenka had an impressive outing on the mound for the Panthers to kick off their conference series against Murray State this past weekend. Yasenka picked up his first win as a Panther improving to 1-3 on the season. YaSenka tossed 8.0 innings with nine strikeouts, six hits, three runs, and two walks.
Ryan Knernschield head into the week as the Panthers leading hitting. Knernschield is currently hitting .354 with 27 total bases, 23 hits, 14 runs, eight RBIs, seven walks, and four doubles.
Jimmy Govern leads the Panthers in RBIs heading into the midweek contests. Govern has 16 RBIs on the season with seven RBIs, four homeruns, and a triple.
Harrison Freed leads the Butler offense batting .403 on the season with 56 total bases, 24 RBIs, 20 runs, 10 walks, six homeruns, four stolen bases, three doubles, three triples.
Nate Reeder leads Evansville with a .367 average, 37 total bases, 17 runs, 12 RBIs, eight walks, six doubles, and three homeruns.
Up next the Panthers will head to Tennessee Tech to compete in their third conference series of the 2019 season this weekend.Â
