Successful Seasons for Women's Recruits

Lariah Washington, Morgan Litwiller, and Paige Schumann committed last November

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois women's basketball head coach Matt Bollant added Lariah Washington, Morgan Litwiller, and Paige Schumann on national signing day back in November. The three new Panthers capped off their senior seasons last month leading their respective teams to success and earning many post season honors.

Washington is a guard out of Apollo High School in Minnesota. She reached 1,000 points in just her sophomore season, broke the school all-time scoring record as a junior with 1,684 points, and finished her career with a new record of 2,433 points. She also set the single-season scoring record at her school with 646 points in her junior campaign. She earned All-Conference honors all four years of her high-school career. She was an All-Area honorable mention her sophomore season and an All-Area Team member her sophomore and junior season. Washington was also nominated for St. Cloud Area Player of the year two years in a row. She won player of year as a junior and senior and was also selected for the All-Star game in her senior campaign.

Litwiler is a forward from Northridge High School in Indiana. She averaged 20.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.3 spg, and 1.9 apg. She shot 53 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free throw line. She finishes her career as the Northridge all-time leading scorer and rebounder, and she also set the single-game scoring record with 34 points. Litwiller accumulated many honors in her high school career. She was named to the IBCA Supreme 15 All-State team, All-Conference First Team, ICGSA All-State First Team, Bankers Classic All-Tounament Team, Elkhart Truth;s Player of the Year, and the Goshen News Player of the Year. Litwiller also led her team to four straight NLC titles, was named in the Hoosier Basketball Magazine top 60 workout, and selected for the Hoosier Reunion Classic All-Star Game and the Michiana McDonald's All-Star Game.

Schumann is a point guard from Beaver Dam High School in Wisconsin. She finished her senior year averaging 7.6 ppg, 5.2 apg, 3.5 rpg, and 2.0 spg. She finished second in school history with 517 career assists. Schumann was named First Team All-Conference in the Badger North Conference. She was a WBCA All-State honorable mention, AP All-State honorable mention, Team 10 USA Today, and Team 10 Max Preps. She led her team two three straight state championships and was chosed for the Badger Conference All-Star game and the WBCA All-Star game.
