CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri found the back of the net on a frantic play in front of the goal late in the first half as the Redhawks beat Eastern Illinois 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
EIU fell to 1-5-1 on the season, 0-1-1 in the OVC. SEMO improved to 4-3 overall, 2-0 in the OVC.

Southeast Missouri was able to find the back of the net in the 33rd minute when Megan Heisserer knocked home a quick pass from Esmie Gonzales during a scramble near the net.
Heisserer finished with three of the Redhawks 11 shots on goal.
EIU had seven shots on goal as Redhawks keeper Bailey Redden was up to the task.
Lexi Ketterhagen had three shots on goal to lead the Panthers.
Pilar Barrio added two.
EIU returns to action at home on Friday afternoon hosting Eastern Kentucky.
