PARK FOREST, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis bounced back from its season opening loss on Friday to post a 7-0 win over Olivet Nazarene on Saturday as the Panthers improved to 1-1 on the season.

EIU won all six singles matches in straight sets with
Kaitlyn Snyder winning at No. 6 singles over Coco Ruggiero to give the Panthers the deciding point to clinch the match. Snyder won 6-2, 6-0.

Elizaveta Burkraba-Ulanova playing at No. 3 singles and
Lauren Ellis playing at No. 5 singles added 6-0, 6-0 wins for the Panthers on the day.

In doubles play, EIU won all three matches to clinch the point. EIU won 6-0 at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles with Snyder and Ellis winning 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.Â

Rachel Papavasilopoulos won 6-0, 2-0 at No. 1 singles as Heidi Moyo retired in the second set. Papavasilopoulos has now won 14 straight singles matches dating back to April 12, 2019. She was 9-0 during last spring's COVID-19 shortened season.
