Eastern Illinois men's soccer coach Ronnie Bouemboue has announced the addition of Nana Nnuro-Frimpong to the Panthers roster for the 2021 fall season.

Frimpong joins three previously announced players - William Bruce, Micah McReynolds and Jared Cornejo - that currently make up EIU's incoming class.

Frimpong is a 5'9" midfielder from Munster, Ind., that lettered in both soccer and track.  He was a first team All-Conference selection and second team All-District selection playing for coach Jim Prasopoulos at Munster HS.  Frimpong was also a two-time Academic All-State selection.  He played club soccer for Millennium SA for coach Vangel Nacouski.

"Nana will be joining us in the fall 2021, having played his youth soccer at Millennium SA and Munster High School in Indiana, " said Bouemboue.   "He is a technical and strong central midfielder that will add some depth to our midfield. Along with his strong academic background, Nana has shown that he has tools to be an a contributing student-athlete on and off the field at EIU. I look forward to his positive contributions to our program."

EIU opens the 2020 season that will be played in the spring of 2021 next Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Bradley.  Following that EIU will play ten Summit League contests with five of those played at Lakeside Soccer Field.
