WATERLOO, Iowa – Eastern Illinois and Creighton met for the second straight day in Waterloo, Iowa for a women's tennis match-up and for the second straight day Creighton emerged with a 5-2 win.
The two teams slightly shifted their line-ups from Friday evening's contest as EIU fell to 1-3 on the season. Creighton is now 2-0.
Rachel Papavasilopoulos extended her win streak to 16 straight matches over the course of three seasons as she beat Sarah Wilcox, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 1 singles. Her last loss in singles play was April 12, 2019.
EIU slid up the next five slots in their singles line-up.Â
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova moved up to No. 2 singles and suffered her first singles loss of the season falling in two sets to Katie Krueger.
Brittany Steven played at No. 3 singles for EIU as she improved to 3-1 on the season. Steven won in two sets over Emma Gener, 6-3, 7-6. She won the tie-break in the second set 7-5.
Creighton won the doubles point in the match winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles. The match at No. 2 doubles was left unfinished after the Bluejays captured the point.Â
