CHARLESTON, Ill. –
Laurel Bailey tied for a match-high 12 kills as the Eastern Illinois senior was honored prior to the Panthers Sunday evening match against Southeast Missouri.

Danielle Allen both had 12 kills for EIU with both hitting over .320 in the match, however, the remainder of the EIU squad combined for seven kills in a three set loss.
SEMO won 3-0; 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.
The Redhawks also had a pair of attackers finish with 12 kills as Laney Malloy and Zoey Beasley paced the SEMO attack. As a team SEMO finished with 46 kills hitting .265 for match.
EIU had 31 team kills hitting .182.
In the first set EIU and SEMO battled until the final stages. The first set was tied 18-18 when SEMO closed with a 7-0 run. Kayla Closset dropped in a pair of service aces with Talia Gouard and Malloy closing out the set with kills.
In the second set SEMO built a five point cushion on a service ace by Addy McAleer to lead 16-11. The Redhawks would finish with eight service aces in the match. Claire Ochs and Malloy had back-to-back kills for SEMO to help clinch the second set.
In the third, EIU knotted the set at 21-21 on a kill by Bailey. SEMO would score three straight points on kills by Gouard and Malloy before Allen ended the run to make it 24-22. Malloy closed out the match for SEMO.
Christina Martinez Mundo had 14 digs for EIU. Malloy had 21 to lead SEMO.
EIU fell to 2-11 on the season. SEMO improved to 11-2.
