Laurel Bailey Named Second Team All-OVC

Senior joined 1,000 dig club during final season

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois senior Laurel Bailey was named a second team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection on Wednesday as the league released its postseason awards for the 2020 season played in the spring of 2021. 

Bailey was the Panthers leading attacker during the season finishing the year with 194 kills for a 3.66 kills per set average which ranked sixth in the OVC.  She had an attack percentage of .161 for the season.  Bailey had a season high 21 kills against Tennessee State. 

She was the team leader with 34 blocks with two solo blocks.  During the year Bailey became the 29th player in program history to reach the 1,000 digs mark for her career.  Bailey finished the season with 108 digs to average 2.04 per set.   

EIU finished the season at 2-14 with wins over Tennessee State and Murray State.
