Six Homerun Game Sees Panthers Fall 5-1

Lawson hits first career homer in 5-1 loss to UT Martin

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois baseball (18-18, 8-11 OVC) fell 5-1 after a homerun-filled loss to the UT Martin Skyhawks (13-19, 6-7 OVC). The Panthers' lone run came from a Tarron Lawson laser solo-homer over the left-center field wall. The Panthers will look ahead towards tomorrow's doubleheader in attempts to win the day and the series.

GAME ONE
Cameron Doherty held the Skyhawks scoreless until a sixth-inning two-out homer. Lawson had given the Panthers the lead in the fifth with his lead-off deep fly. The Skyhawks took the lead in the seventh inning with a lead-off homer of their own, as the Panthers were unable to score again. The Skyhawks managed five solo homers to give Eastern Illinois the 5-1 loss.
