JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Eastern Illinois baseball (25-23, 14-16 OVC) fell in both games of the doubleheader, dropping the series 2-1 to Jacksonville State (26-27, 16-14 OVC). The Panthers fell in game two, 4-2, and couldn't bounce back as EIU fell 10-0 in eight innings. The Panthers end the season with a 25-23 record; the first time the Panthers have finished above .500 since 2009.

GAME TWO AND THREE
Eastern Illinois started their first inning with a
Lucas DiLuca single into left field and advanced after a passed ball. After a Knernschield walk, Doyle hit an RBI single, scoring DiLuca, and putting the Panthers aboard 1-0 in the early stages of the game.Â
In the third, Knernschield led the rally off and walked after a battle at the dish. Doyle smoked a double, his 15th of the season, putting runners on second and third.
Christian Pena drew a walk, with the final ball being a wild pitch that scored Knernschield and put the Panthers up 2-0.Â
The Gamecocks managed a run in the bottom of the third and took the lead on a two-out three-run homer.
The Gamecocks kept the lead through the rest of the game and took game two 4-2, setting up the rubber match of the series.
In game three, the Panthers were unable to get anything going as they fell in eight innings 10-0 to JSU. The Panthers fell 2-1 in the series and wrap up the season with a 25-23 record.
