CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois women's soccer scored three first half goals on Sunday as the Panthers blanked Illinois Springfield 3-0 to even their mark on the 2021 season.

EIU improved to 1-1 as they had first half goals by Nicoletta Anuci (2) and Michaela Danyo.

Anuci opened the scoring in the 10th minute as she received a long pass from Lauren Frick just over midfield and raced to beat the UIS goalkeeper in a one-v-one situation.
 
The Panthers added an insurance goal in the 15th minute as Michaela Danyo won a race to a loose ball in the goal box and then shifted the ball and drove home a goal into the lower right corner of the net.
 
Anuci's second tally of the match came in the 22nd minute as she received a pass from Zenaya Barnes and again beat the goalkeeper in a one-v-one situation.
 
EIU finished the match with 15 shots including eight shots on goal.
 
Faith Davies posted a shutout in goal for the Panthers making seven saves.
