MURRAY, Ky. – Eastern Illinois rolled out its 12th different starting line-up of the season on Thursday night as the Panthers faced Murray State for the second straight game falling 91-51 on the road.
EIU fell to 2-15 overall, 0-4 in the OVC. Murray State improved to 16-2 overall, 6-0 in the OVC.
Freshman
Paul Bizimana was a bright spot for a short-handed EIU line-up as he scored 22 points with 12 of those coming in the first half.
DaQuan Smith sparked the Racers offense in the first half scoring 15 points off the bench going 5-of-6 from 3-point range.  Murray State finished the game shooting 42 percent from 3-point range as a team making 14 of 34.
EIU held an early 6-4 lead with buckets by
Kashawn Charles, Bizimana and
CJ Lane.
Murray State answered with an 8-0 run with 3-pointers by Tevin Brown and Justice Hill taking a 12-6 lead with 13:38 left in the first half. The Racers would extend the lead to double figures with 11:17 left in the first half and took a 48-22 lead at the half.
Murray State ended the game shooting 52 percent shooting 54 percent in the first half. Â
Eastern Illinois had some good early shooting in the second half as
Dan Luers and Bizimana each knocked down a pair of 3-pointers. Luers would finish with 10 points, the second EIU player in double figures.  Lane also had ten for the Panthers.
Brown paced a 22-1 run midway through the second half as the Racers closed out the game. Brown knocked down four 3-pointers to finish with 16 points. Carter Collins added ten. Murray State held a 45-22 rebound margin with KJ Williams and DJ Burns both collecting 11 rebounds.
