As the Ohio Valley Conference celebrates its 75th anniversary this academic year, we look back at Eastern Illinois part in that history each Tuesday
Dustin Hatfield and
Lindsey Carlson both were last year's individual OVC Cross Country Champions representing Eastern Illinois.  In addition to winning each race for the Panthers, each runner was also named the OVC Runner of the Year for the Men and Women. Â
Hatfield became the fifth EIU men's runner to win the OVC individual championship while Carlson became the first EIU women's runner to win the title. Two weeks later both would go on to earn All-Region honors at the NCAA Midwest Regional with Hatfield advancing to the NCAA National Championships.
EIU men's and women's cross country travels to the OVC Championships this weekend in Cookeville, Tenn.Â
