BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Kaitlyn Flynn and Catalina Rochaix were selected as two of the Ohio Valley Conference players of the week after their performances against Southern Indiana and Little Rock last week. Flynn won the Offensive POTW for the second time this season while Rochaix won Setter of the week for the first time this season.

Flynn totaled 59 kills this week in three matches. In a 3-1 victory against Southern Indiana last Tuesday, Flynn made the most of her opportunities by punching down 27 kills against the Screaming Eagles. This marked her second most kills on the season and the second most by an OVC player this season. She also hit .353 against USI.

In the weekend series against the Trojans of Little Rock, Flynn led the team in both matches with 18 and 14 kills. She has six straight matches with at least 12 kills and has nine total matches with double-digit kills. Flynn was second on the team in hitting percentage last week with a .396 (min. 15 attempts). This week she posted 5.90 kills per set.

Defensively, Flynn also had eight blocks including three solo and had two services aces. In the OVC, Flynn ranks first in the conference in kills per set with an average of 4.30. She is also third in total kills 185 and ninth in hitting percentage with a .265.

Rochaix helped set up Flynn during all three matches this week. She compiled a total of 78 assists this week in the Panthers' 6-2 system. Rochaix increased her season average in assists per set by posting 7.80 against the Screaming Eagles and Trojans.

Against USI, Rochaix posted 29 assists which is her third most in a match this season. At home over the weekend Rochaix was able to collect 27 and 22 assists against Little Rock. In her two matches against the Trojans, she posted above a .540 assist percentage. 

During OVC play, EIU ranks second in hitting percentage, first in assists (13.11) and first in kills with an average of 14.05 per set. She is currently sixth in total assists in the OVC with 371. Rochaix is ninth in terms of assists per set with 5.80.

Flynn, Rochaix and the rest of the Panthers will return to action this weekend when they travel to Southeast Missouri on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. They will play the following day, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Livestats and ESPN+ will be made available.
