2023 Schedule
On Tuesday (Dec. 13) the Ohio Valley Conference and Big South Conference announced the slate of conference games that will make up part of the scheduling alliance between the two conferences for the 2023 season.
The conference portion of the schedule will feature six games with crossover action between the two conferences as Eastern Illinois released its full completed 2023 schedule as well.
The Panthers will have five home dates with the home opener on Sept. 16 against Illinois State in the Mid-America Classic. EIU returns home the following week to host McNeese in the second game of the two-game series between the programs with the Cowboys coming to Charleston on Sept. 23.
EIU opens its six game portion of the OVC/Big South Alliance at home on Oct. 7 hosting UT Martin. The Panthers also host Bryant on Oct. 21 and close out home play on Nov. 11 hosting Tennessee State.
EIU's three road games as part of the OVC/Big South Alliance are at Southeast Missouri on Oct. 14, at Lindenwood on Nov. 4 and at Robert Morris (Pa.) on Nov. 18.
The 2023 season kicks off for EIU with a Thursday night contest against regional rival Indiana State on August 31. EIU has additional non-conference games in September at Bowling Green on Sept. 9 and Northwestern State on Sept. 30.
Game times, ticket information and specific dates for Homecoming, Family Weekend and Hall of Fame will be announced in the coming weeks.
Head coach Chris Wilkerson enters his second season leading the Panthers in 2023. EIU will face three opponents for the first time in program history with match-ups with Bowling Green, Bryant and Robert Morris.
