A letter from Tom Michael, EIU Director of Athletics...

I believe what's most important is that when we're looking at our student-athletes, it's knowing that we're doing everything we can as a department to give them the best education, and the best experience possible, while also being fiscally responsible with the resources we have available.

We understand the sacrifices that student-athletes make, from a personal, physical and emotional standpoint, and they do it every day, all so they can be a Panther and compete in the sport they love.  No one will ever be able take that feeling away from them, of putting on the uniform, and being a part of a team - a Panther. This experience will prepare them for successes for the rest of their lives.

My hope is that our donors see it from that perspective too, that it's their program, their Athletics Department, and their University. When one of our teams is successful, they can take pride in the fact that success is taking place because they chose to be an integral part of the team by financially putting our student-athletes in a position to be successful. My hope is that this is a way donors can "put on the uniform" as TRUEBLUE members of our teams.

Throughout the donor guide (link below), you'll read about the accolades of our many student-athletes and while you do, remember that their successes are greatly in part by your generosity and WE THANK YOU!
