Doyle Represents EIU At Tokyo Olympic Games

Former EIU Student-Athlete Lauren Doyle made her second appearance as a member of Team USA on the Olympic Stage - article below is a recap following her Olympic appearance... 


As this year's Olympic Games in Tokyo come to a close former Eastern Illinois student-athlete Lauren Doyle wrapped up her second appearance on the national stage representing the United States.
 
Doyle was a member of Team USA participating in Women's Rugby.  The veteran player appeared in all six contests at the Olympic Games as Team USA finished in sixth place at the Tokyo Games.
 
A 2015 graduate with a degree in Marketing, this was Doyle's second time representing Team USA on the Olympic stage.  She was a member of Team USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro when Women's Rugby Sevens debuted as an Olympic Sport.
 
Doyle becomes just the third former EIU student-athlete to participate in two Olympic games joining brothers Dan and Darrin Steele who participated for Team USA in the bobsled at the 1998 Nagano and 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.
 
Doyle, a former EIU women's rugby and track athlete, is the eighth overall former Panther to participate in an Olympic Games.  List of all former EIU Olympians
