The Bluebloods Preseason All-OVC Team

Eastern Illinois football had four players named to The Bluebloods preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference team as the online site released its preseason conference team.
 
Listed on the 28 player preseason team were Isaiah Hill, Jordan Miles, Jordan Vincent and Russell Dandy.  
 
Hill was a second team All-OVC selection at wide receiver last season despite missing a large portion of the season due to injury.  He returned late in the year to play five games and led EIU with 39 receptions for 493 yards and two touchdowns. 
 
Miles was a second team All-OVC selection at defensive end last season after leading the OVC in tackles for loss with 11 while adding four sacks.  Miles finished the year with 38 tackles and had a team high 11 quarterback hurries.
 
Vincent was a second team All-OVC selection at safety last season after ranking third on the EIU defensive unit with 60 tackles.  He added five tackles for loss with two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
 
Dandy was named to the All-OVC Newcomer team last season as the defensive back had 31 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss.  He led the team with two interceptions adding one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. 
 
The Ohio Valley Conference will release its preseason information including predicted order of finish and 2022 preseason teams next Tuesday (July 19) at the OVC Football Media Day.  This year's event returns in person in Nashville, Tenn.
 
EIU opens the 2022 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 with a night game at Northern Illinois.  The home opener for the Panthers and first-year head coach Chris Wilkerson is Saturday, Sept. 10 against Chattanooga.  Season ticket renewals and sales are available now online at www.eiupanthers.com/FBTickets, in-person at the EIU Ticket Office or by calling 217-581-2106.
