LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Eastern Illinois wrapped up their final events on Friday evening as they competed in the first day of the Louisville PNC Invite hosted by the University of Louisville. The meet is comprised of over 20 schools from across the nation.
Akiya Kollore opened up her weekend on a high note with an eighth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles. Kollore opened up the prelims with a time of 8.48 seconds which was good for eighth overall. Her time also is now ranked fifth all-time in EIU history. She would finish eighth in the finals (8.60).
Shanisa Stinson would also compete in the 60m hurdle prelims with a 22nd place finish with a time of 8.87.
Jekeel Suber and Gregory Downs placed 12th and 22nd on the men's side in the 60m hurdles out of 23 participants. Suber ended with a time of 8.38 while Downs had a 8.85 final time.
In the men's 60 meter dash, Cameron Yarborough was the leading Panther with a time of 6.96 which was good for 19th.
Brailyn Johnson (7.01) and
Jahleel Perrin (7.05) finished in 21st and 22nd out of 28.
Ramsey Hunt started off his weekend ranking 13th out of 26 long jumpers with a distance of 6.85m (22"05.75"). Downs also had a jump of 6.67m (21"10.75") to finish in 20th.
Eastern wrapped up the night with the men's weight throw with
Bradley Olysav ranking 11th out of 28 throwers. Olysav had his best throw marked at 17.69m (58-00.50) while
Matthew Gladieux finished in 17th (17.17m / 56"04.00").
