As the Ohio Valley Conference celebrates its 75th anniversary this academic year, we look back at Eastern Illinois part in that history each Tuesday
Mack Smith from EIU men's basketball set the NCAA record for consecutive games with a made 3-pointer with 91.  Smith set the NCAA record for consecutive games with a 3-pointer made, nailing a trifecta in his 89th-straight game on Dec. 30, 2020 at Eastern Kentucky.
In the game at Eastern Kentucky, Smith knocked down the NCAA record shot with 11:52 to play in the first half. Smith started his streak in the same venue as he knocked down the first of the streak on January 6, 2018 at EKU. The streak would come to an end a couple games later ending at 91.
