Eastern Illinois women's basketball picked up an 86-64 win over Chicago State on Thursday night as the Panthers played their lone exhibition game of the preseason. The game was played as a Charity Game with proceeds set to be donated to the Maui Disaster Relief Fund.
EIU opens the regular season next Monday at IUPUI followed by a Thursday game at nationally ranked Indiana. EIU's regular season home opener will be on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. hosting Valparaiso.
EIU had three players score in double figures led by preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference selections
Macy McGlone and
Miah Monahan. McGlone had 24 points with nine rebounds. Monahan finished with 19 points.
Charita "Tiny" Lewis joined the double figure scoring party with 11 points for the Panthers.
Chicago State was led by Claire Simmons with 17 points with Evangelina Parrish and Josie Hill both adding ten.
