Monmouth College scored the first points of the game with a 3-pointer by David Williams.
 
Eastern Illinois scored the next 26 as the Panthers rolled to a 91-45 win over the Fighting Scots on Wednesday night to improve to 1-1 on the season.
 
Tiger Booker started the EIU first half run followed by buckets by Sincere Malone and Kooper Jacobi as EIU had four players finish in double figures with Booker, Malone and Jacobi all included in that group.
 
Jacobi missed his second straight double-double finishing with a game-high 16 points and nine rebounds.
 
Malone had 11 and Booker ten as the Panthers shot 50 percent in the opening half and 49 percent for the game.
 
Dan Luers had ten of his 13 points in the first half for EIU as the Panthers led 49-24 at the break.
 
Declan Flynn led Monmouth with ten points as they were held to 37 percent shooting, falling to 0-1 on the season.
 
EIU dominated play on the glass finishing with a 46-24 rebound edge including 19 offensive rebounds.  Jacobi and Lazar Grbovic both had four offensive boards.
