O'FALLON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis lost 7-0 on Thursday afternoon against Saint Louis in the Panthers lone match of the week played at the St. Clair Racquet Club.
Thomas Wallace was solid playing at No. 4 singles for the Panthers pushing his match to three sets before falling 10-6 in the third to Adam Behun in EIU's best chance to secure a point in the match. Behun won 6-1, 3-6, 10-6.
The Billikens won the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Playing at No. 2 doubles, the team of Antonio Ayerble Streubel and
Cameron Slabbert was trailing 5-4 when their match was left unfinished with SLU clinching the point.
Slabbert played at No. 1 singles for EIU losing 7-6 in the first set to Ryota Fukushima before dropping the second set 6-1.
EIU fell to 2-3 on the season and will play at IU Southeast and Bellarmine next weekend.Â
