PEKIN, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis suffered its second 5-2 loss of the week as the Panthers dropped a Saturday afternoon match against Bradley at the Parkside Fitness Center.
EIU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match winning the doubles point.Â
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova and
Christine Gouws won at No. 1 doubles 6-4. EIU then won at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 win by
Jemma Booth and
Lauren Ellis. The No. 2 doubles match was left unfinished with Bradley leading 5-4 in that match.
In singles play EIU picked up its second point with a win by Bukraba-Ulanova at No. 2 singles. Bukraba-Ulanova won 6-4, 6-4 over Mariia Pukina.
EIU had chances in two additional singles matches with Gouws and Ellis losing in three sets in their matches.Â
Gouws lost at No. 1 singles to Anna Belogliadova falling 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-2.
Ellis lost in three sets at No. 6 singles falling to Alex Hildreth 6-7 (1-7), 6-3, 10-5.
