LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis played outdoors for the first time this spring as the Panthers wrapped up weekend action at Bellarmine on Saturday afternoon.
EIU secured the doubles point but Bellarmine won all six singles matches to collect the 6-1 win.
Bellarmine won at No. 1 doubles with EIU squaring the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles by
Alex Dinkov and
Pau Riera. EIU then won the first point of the day with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles by
Tyler Carlin and
Max Pilipovic-Kljajic.
In singles action Riera battled at No. 2 singles before falling in three sets to Matthew Nice. Nice won 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.
Bellarmine was able to win the other five singles matches in two sets.
EIU wraps up the weekend 1-1 following a 7-0 win over IU-Southeast on Friday afternoon.
The Panthers are now 3-4 on the season.
