CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois beach volleyball (2-5, 1-4 OVC) defeated Lindenwood (5-8, 1-4 OVC) in their final home match of the season by a final score of 4-1. EIU has now won two straight matches for the first time in program history.

Ella Collins and Emily Wilcox started off strong for the Panthers with a nail-bitting three set win on court two. The pair dropped the first set by a score of 14-21 but bounced back with scores of 21-14 and 16-14. Wilcox and Collins have won their first dual at the number four spot..

In the number five pairing, Kate Dean and Catalina Rochaix also took their dual into three sets and had the same results. The duo was able to take the second point for EIU with scores of 21-1, 16-21 and 15-12.

Giovana Larregui Lopez and Lilli Amettis cinched the victory for the Panthers at the number three spot with a two set win over the Lions of Lindenwood. It marked the first win for the pair with scores of 21-17 and 23-21.

The final point for the Panthers came at the number two match with Christina Martinez Mundo and Tori Mohesky with scores of 21-19 and 21-14. After dropping their dual on Tuesday, the pair bounced back with a win to mark the first time EIU has ever scored four points in a beach win.

The Panthers will be back in action in two weeks when they travel to Lindenwood on Sunday, April 16 starting at 1:00 p.m. For more information go to eiupanthers.com.
