The Fred Mitchell Award announced its 34 non-FBS place-kickers for excellence entering the college football season on the 2023 Preseason Watch List with Eastern Illinois senior kicker
Stone Galloway on the preseason list.
Galloway was on the award watch list through parts of the 2022 season as he earned first team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors. He finished the year 11-of-12 on field goal attempts with a perfect average inside of 50-yards. He added a perfect 27-of-27 on extra points leading the Panthers in scoring with 60 points.
Galloway is one of three Big South-OVC Football Association place-kickers on the preseason watch list joined by 2022 Award Winner Ethan Gettman from Bryant and Logan Seibert from Lindenwood.
The recipient of the 2023 Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December. The breakdown of the 34 place-kickers is as follows:
Collegiate Division – 13 FCS, 9 Division II, 7 Division III, 4 NAIA and 1 NJCAA
State – The place-kickers play at schools located in 25 different states
Year – 1 Graduate Student, 17 Seniors, 14 Juniors, 2 Sophomores and 0 Freshmen
