BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer opened the 2023 season with Abby Reinl being recognized as Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Reinl was one of the key offensive players in the matches against Valpo and Illinois Springfield. On Thursday, the freshman forward scored the goal that put EIU back in the game during the regular season opener at Valparaiso. On Sunday, she was once again exceptional to assist EIU's second goal against UIS. Not satisfied, Reinl scored EIU's third goal in the home win over UIS, 3-1.
 
Overall, Reinl logged two goals, one assist, and four shots on goal for the Panthers.
 
The Panthers return to action this Thursday with a road match at Northern Illinois.
