Eastern Illinois men's tennis wrapped up its weekend matches on Sunday with a 7-0 loss at No. 2 Ohio State.
The Buckeyes, last year's NCAA national runner-up, picked up the doubles point winning at No. 1 and 3 doubles. The No. 2 double match was left unfinished with OSU's tandem leading
Pau Riera and
Thomas Wallace 5-2.
In singles action the Panthers had solid efforts from the bottom part of its line-up at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Jon William Karlstad lost at No. 5 singles to Bryce Nakashima falling 6-2, 6-3. EIU newcomer
Zach White put up a challenge at No. 6 singles against Reece Yakubov. White lost 7-5, 6-4.
At the top of the playing line-up, EIU's No. 1 and No. 2 singles players both lost to nationally ranked Top 15 players.
Pau Riera lost at No. 1 singles to JJ Tracy who is ranked No. 4 nationally.
Cameron Slabbert lost at No. 2 singles to Jack Anthrop who is ranked No. 11 nationally.
