MOREHEAD, Ky.  – The Eastern Illinois volleyball team (8-18, 4-12 OVC) fell 1-3 against Morehead State (14-13, 10-6 OVC) on Friday evening. The final set scores were as follows: 25-23, 11-25, 15-25, 17-25.

The Panthers fell behind by as many as six points in the opening set before closing out the frame on a dominant 12-3 run to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Destiny Walker led the way with five kills in the set.

Morehead State controlled the next three sets, opening up early leads the Panthers were unable to overcome to secure the win.

Destiny Walker fronted the Eastern attack once against with a total of 10 kills. She was followed by Matilda Dahlström with nine kills and fellow freshman Karli Mann with seven kills.

Catalina Rochaix led the team in assists with 16 helpers, while Ariadna Pereles finished with a team-high 16 digs.

Meanwhile, Julia Stanev posted a team-best four blocks for the second consecutive match.

The Panthers return home to close out the regular season next week as they welcome Tennessee State to Groniger Arena. Match one is set for Tuesday, November 19th at 6 p.m., with the season finale following on Wednesday, November 20th at 4 p.m.
