Eastern Illinois men's tennis faced its second nationally ranked opponent this spring as the Panthers lost a Friday morning match at No. 19 Illinois.

Illinois won the doubles point and clinched the match with four singles wins to pick up the 5-0 decision with two singles matches left unfinished.

Pau Riera played at No. 1 singles for EIU and faced Kenta Miyoshi who is ranked No. 46 in the nation. Miyoshi won the match 6-0, 6-2.

EIU's matches at No. 2 and No. 3 singles were left unfinished with Illinois winning at spots 4, 5 and 6 in the playing order.

Thomas Wallace lost at No. 4 singles to Mathis Debru – 6-1, 6-2.

Zach White fell at No.5 singles to Lucas Horve – 6-2, 6-0.
