The Eastern Illinois men's tennis was competitive in a majority of the matches on Friday during its Horizon League match at Tennessee State.
TSU won the doubles point and then won four of the six singles matches in three sets to beat EIU 7-0.
The Tigers won the doubles point winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. EIU won 6-4 at the No. 2 doubles spot with
Cameron Slabbert and
Zach White playing for the Panthers.
EIU would push four of the six singles matches to three sets but could not get over the top in any of those contests.
Pau Riera played at No. 1 singles for EIU losing in three sets to Daniel Caraballo. Caraballo won 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 1-0 (10-7).
Cameron Slabbert played at No. 2 singles falling in three sets to Jonas Dziopak. Dziopak won 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).
Zach White lost in three sets to Diego Britt-Alvarez competing at No. 4 singles. Britt-Alvarez won 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
The final three set match was at No. 6 singles with
Jon William Karlstad falling to Rohan Loubser. Loubser won 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
EIU plays its final regular season match on Saturday at Tennessee Tech.
