Eastern Illinois football head coach Chris Wilkerson has announced the hiring of Cole Hoover as the Panthers new tight end coach.
 
Hoover, a former offensive lineman at EIU, returns to his alma mater after coaching during the 2024 spring season at Western Illinois.
 
Hoover played for the Panthers from 2016-20 before moving into the coaching ranks beginning his career as graduate assistant coach with the offensive line in 2022.
 
He would go on to coach as a graduate assistant in 2023 at Ball State once again working with the offensive line group.
