Eastern Illinois women's basketball head coach
Marqus McGlothan has announced the hiring of Destiny Bragman and Caitlyn Peterson as assistant coaches for the Panthers program as McGlothan puts together his first staff for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Bragman comes to EIU after coaching last season at NCAA Division II member New Mexico Highlands where she served as an assistant coach. Bragman also worked as an assistant athletic director in the department helping with game day operations and facilities.  Prior to her one season at NMHU, Bragman served as the head coach for four seasons at Trinidad State College in Colorado. She improved the program from four wins her first season with the junior college program to winning 14 games her last season in 2022-23. She earned NJCAA Region 9 Coach of the Year honors in 2021-22. Bragman has one additional year as an assistant coach at Western Colorado University and two seasons as an assistant at Trinidad State. She played collegiately at both Trinidad State and Stephen F. Austin. While at Trinidad State she ranked second in the nation in blocked shots. During two seasons at SFA she helped the program win two Southland Conference titles and finish as runner-up at the 2015 WBI Tournament.  Bragman earned her bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin and is pursuing a master's degree at New Mexico Highlands.

Peterson comes to EIU after coaching last season as an assistant coach at Augsburg University assisting with recruiting and scouting as part of her duties with the program. The prior season she worked as an assistant coach at St. Cloud State helping the program post a 17-10 record advancing to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament. As a player Peterson was a five-year member of the St. Cloud State team as they made three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances during her time on the roster. She was a two-time team captain with the team winning both a NSIC regular season and tournament championship. She also has spent time coaching with the North Tartan, MN Comets, DTA Academy and Hoopology programs. Peterson holds a bachelor's and master's degree from St. Cloud State.

McGlothan will be entering his third season at Eastern Illinois and first as the head coach after being elevated to the position in May following the departure of former head coach Matt Bollant. McGlothan was an assistant coach during his first season before serving as the associate head coach last year. The Panthers have posted back-to-back second place regular season finishes in the OVC in both of McGlothan's previous two seasons reaching the semifinals of the OVC Tournament each season.
