Eastern Illinois men's basketball coach Marty Simmons has announced the addition of transfer forward Blake Goodman (6'7" / 225) to the Panthers roster for next season.

He has played the last two seasons at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.  Last season Goodman led the team in scoring at 17.2 points per game with 17 double figure scoring games.  He scored 30 or more points three times in a game with a high of 36 points against Faulkner University.  Goodman shot 40.4 percent from 3-point range knocking down 55 3-pointers.  He added 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.  In his first season at Fisk, Goodman appeared in five games scoring a season high 21 points against Dalton State.

Goodman is from Detroit, Michigan and prepped at North Farmington High School earning All-State honors as a 1,000 point scorer in high school.  He averaged 24.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists as a senior.  Goodman played his freshman collegiate season at Siena Heights University averaging 11.4 points per game. He shot 47 percent from 3-point range during that season.

"Blake is a player that has proven he can score at the college level leading his previous team in scoring last season," said Simmons.  "His size and 3-point shooting ability can help us spread out the floor offensively.  We look forward to adding him to our EIU Basketball family."

Goodman joins Zion Fruster (6'2, Guard, Univ. of Virginia Wise), Terry McMorris (6'7, forward, Link Year Prep), Obadiah Curtis (6'5, guard, Arkansas State) and Sekou Kalle (6'10", forward, Evansville) as newcomers to the Panthers roster.
